The following calendar, in case of different arrangements by the University's central offices, may be subject to some changes.
Within the calendar, dates related to:
  • lectures;
  • examinations;
  • dissertations.
 

A.A. 2024-2025


CLASSES


First semester: Monday, September 23 to Saturday, December 14, 2024 
Holiday breaks: Friday, November 1, 2024; Saturday, November 2. 
Second semester: from Monday, February 17 to Saturday, May 17, 2025 
Holidays: break for Easter holidays from Thursday, April 17 to Tuesday, April 22, 2025 (inclusive); Friday, April 25, 2025; Saturday, April 26, 2025; Thursday, May 1, 2025; Friday, May 2, 2025; Saturday, May 3, 2025. 


EXAMINATION SESSIONS


According to the provisions of the Student Regulations - https://www.uniroma1.it/it/pagina/regolamento-studenti - students may take examinations of a subject of their year of study only after the lectures of the relevant teaching module have ended (regardless of whether they are attending students or not).

 
From Tuesday, January 7, 2025 to Saturday, February 15, 2025: 3 exam sessions for all courses delivered up to A.Y. 2023/2024*, and for all subjects whose courses were held in the first semester of A.Y. 2024/2025

Please note: in order to ensure that students can meet the deadlines to apply for graduation for the March 2025 session in the administrative office, the first of the three appeals must necessarily be scheduled, carried out and recorded, at least for undergraduates, by Friday, January 17, 2025. All appeals held on dates after Friday, January 31, 2025, even if they relate to courses delivered in previous academic years, may only be recorded on the records of the 2024-2025 academic year

From Tuesday, April 1 to Saturday, May 3, 2025 (Special Session) 1 exam session for all courses delivered until A.Y. 2023/2024 and subjects 2024/2025 whose courses were held in the first semester reserved for:

  • Fuori Corso students (they will be able to take all the exams in their programme);
  • Students enrolled in Part Time mode (will be able to take all exams whose courses have already been delivered in previous years or the first semester of the current year);
  • Students enrolled in single courses 2024/2025.
  • Incoming Erasmus students (may take all exams whose teachings have already been delivered in previous years or the first semester of the current year);
  • Students with disabilities or DSA (may take all exams whose teachings have already been delivered in previous years or the first semester of the current year);
  • Female students who are mothers and to students who are fathers with child(ren) under the age of three (will be able to take all examinations whose teachings have already been delivered in previous years or to the first semester of the current year);
  • pregnant students (will be able to take all exams whose teachings have already been delivered in previous years or to the first semester of the current year);
  • working students (may take all exams whose teachings have already been delivered in previous years or to the first semester of the current year);
  • students who have athlete status, as defined in Article 25 paragraph 6 of Sapienza Student Regulations - (may take all exams whose teachings have already been delivered in previous years or the first semester of the current year);
  • students who are concurrently enrolled in two courses of study, as defined in Art. 9 of the Sapienza Student Regulations - (may take all examinations whose teachings have already been delivered in previous years or the first semester of the current year);

From Monday, June 2 to Friday, July 19, 2025 (Summer Session): 3 exam sessions of all subjects delivered up to a.y. 2024-2025. By July 19, 2025, all examinations must be taken and recorded.

Please note: in order to ensure that students can meet the deadlines to be able to participate in the July 2025 graduation session, the first of the three appeals must necessarily be scheduled, taken and recorded, at least for undergraduates, by Saturday, June 14, 2025.

From Monday, September 1 to Saturday, September 13, 2025 (Autumn Session): 1 exam session of all subjects delivered up to A.Y. 2024-2025

From Monday, October 13 to Saturday, November 8, 2025(Extraordinary Session) - 1 exam session for all courses delivered up to a.y. 2024/2025 reserved for:

  • Three-year undergraduates of the December 2025/ January 2026 session (may take the last exam for a maximum of 9 cfu);
  • Undergraduates of Specialistica/Magistrale and Old Order Quinquennale of the session of December 2025/ January 2026 (they can take the last exam for a maximum of 9 cfu if of order 270);
  • Fuori corso students (all exams in their order);
  • students enrolled in Part Time mode (all exams under their order);
  • Students enrolled in single courses 2024/2025
  • Incoming Erasmus students (they will be able to take all exams whose teachings have already been delivered by the a.y. 2024/2025);
  • Students with disabilities or DSA (may take all exams whose courses have already been delivered by a.y. 2024/2025);
  • Female students who are mothers and to students who are fathers with child(ren) under the age of three (will be able to take all exams whose teachings have already been delivered by a.y. 2024/2025);

From Wednesday, January 7, 2026 to Friday, January 16, 2026 (Winter Session 2024/2025) last exam session related to the a.y. 2024/2025:
1 exam session for all courses delivered up to a.y. 2024/2025.


GRADUATION SESSIONS


Monday, March 10 to Friday, March 28, 2025 (advance of Summer Session 2024/2025)
Session valid for all orders.
Monday, July 7 to Friday, July 25, 2025 (Summer Session 2024/2025).
Session valid for all ordinations.
Monday, October 6 to Friday, November 7, 2025 (Fall Session 2024/2025).
Session valid for all ordinations.
Monday, December 1, 2025 to Friday, January 23, 2026 (Winter Session 2024/2025). 
Session valid for all ordinations.

*All examinations related to courses taught in the 2023/2024 academic year by faculty members who are not full professors for the following academic year (a.y. 2024/2025) may only be taken until Friday, January 31, 2025. As of Saturday, February 1, 2025, the appeals for these teachings will be held by faculty members who have acquired tenure for the a.y. 2024/2025. Appeals related to a.y. 2023/2024 teachings no longer provided in a.y. 2024/2025 will still be guaranteed.

 

A.A. 2023-2024


CLASSES


First semester: from Monday the 18th of September to Saturday the 9th of December 2023 (11-16 of December 2023 for any missed lectures)
Holidays: Wednesday the 1st of November 2023; Friday the 8th of December 2023
Second semester: from Monday the 19th of February to Saturday the 18th of May 2024 (20-25 of May 2024 for any missed lectures)
Holidays: Easter holidays from Thursday the 28th of March to Tuesday the 2nd of April 2024; Thursday the 25th of April 2024; Wednesday the 1st of May 2024


EXAMS


As explained in the Prospectus - https://www.uniroma1.it/it/pagina/regolamento-studenti - all students can take exams once the course is over. 

 
Between Monday the 8th of January 2024 and Saturday the 10th of February 2024 there will be 3 exam sessions for all the courses from previous years, and for all the courses that were taught in the first semester of the current academic year

N.B.: In order to guarantee students the possibility to meet the deadlines to graduate in March 2024, the first exam session will be held before the 19th of January 2024. All exams held after the 31st of January 2024 will be registered exclusively in the academic year 2023-2024.

Between Wednesday the 3rd of April and Saturday the 4th of May 2024 there will be an extraordinary exam session for all subjects from previous academic years as well as those taught in the first semester of the current year. 
This session is exclusively available to the following categories:

  • Students not on track with their exams (can sit all exams from their course);
  • Part time students (can sit 2 exams);
  • Single course students 2023/2024
  • Incoming Erasmus students (can sit all exams that have been taught in previous years);
  • Students with disabilities students (can sit all exams that have been taught in previous years);
  • Student parents with children under 3 years of age (can sit all exams that have been taught in previous years);
  • Pregnant students (can sit all exams that have been taught in previous years);
  • Working students (can sit all exams that have been taught in previous years);

Between Monday the 3rd of June and Friday the 19th of July 2024 (summer session): 3 exam sessions for all subjects taught up to the current academic year. By the 21nd of July 2023 all exams must have been held and certified.

N.B.: In order to guarantee students the possibility to meet the deadlines to graduate in July 2024 the first exam session will be held before the 14th of June 2024. 

Between Monday the 2nd of September and Saturday the 14th of September 2024 (autumn session): 1 exam session for all subjects taught up to the academic year 2023-2024

Between Monday the 14th of October and Saturday the 9th of November 2024 there will be an extraordinary exam session for all subjects from previous academic years. 

  • Bachelor graduates for the December 2024 / January 2025 sessions (can sit their final exam for a maximum of 9 cfu);
  • Master’s graduates and from previous 5 year degrees for the December 2024 / 2025 session (can sit their final exam for a maximum of 9 cfu);
  • Students not on track with their exams (can sit all exams from their course);
  • Part time students (can sit 2 exams);
  • Single course students 2023/2024
  • Incoming Erasmus students (can sit all exams that have been taught in previous years);
  • Students with disabilities students (can sit all exams that have been taught in previous years);
  • Student parents with children under 3 years of age (can sit all exams that have been taught in previous years);
  • Pregnant students (can sit all exams that have been taught in previous years);
  • Working students (can sit all exams that have been taught in previous years);

Between Tuesday the 7th of January 2025 and Friday the 17th of January 2025 (winter session 2023/2024) there will be the last exam session for the academic year 2023/2024:
1 exam session for courses that have been taught in previous years


GRADUATION SESSIONS


Between Monday the 4th of March and Wednesday the 27th of March 2024 (early summer session 2023/2024)
Between Wednesday the 3rd of July and Friday the 26nd of July 2024 (summer session 2023/2024)
Between Tuesday the 8th of October and Friday the 8th of November 2024 (autumn session 2023/2024)
Between Tuesday the 3rd of December 2024 and Friday the 24th of January 2025 (winter session 2023/2024).

*All exams relative to courses held in the academic year 2022/2023 by teachers who no longer hold the course will be held until the 31st of January 2024. Starting from Wednesday the 1st of February 2024 the exams will be held by the professor who now holds the course. Exams relative to courses held in the academic year 2022/2023 that are no longer held will still be guaranteed.
